- Reviewing patients mental state alongside senior doctors in the team or, where appropriate, on their own.
- Assessing and managing patients physical health needs and seeking advice from relevant colleagues in doing so where required. This may require liaising with medical professionals at the local acute hospital, Royal Berkshire Hospital
- Fully registered with the General Medical Council
- A higher degree such as MD or PhD
- Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification

Job summary
This is a LAS (Locum Appointment for Service) in General Adult inpatient at CT (Core Trainee) covering the inpatient service and the Out of Hours On Call Rota.
The post holder can be expected to work either exclusively on one of the five adult wards or split equally between 2 wards, depending on the need of the service that will be determined near the date of the role commencing, under direct supervision of Consultant Psychiatrist or Specialty Doctor/s on the ward/s.
All wards have at least 2 resident doctors and the responsibilities listed below will be shared with them equitably and based on individual developmental needs
