      Abbott Established Pharmaceutical Division (EPD) is looking for a

      Launch Management Manager

      for its global Pharma Division Headquarter based in Allschwil- Basel.

      Primary Job Function:

      Drive and own all New Product Introduction (NPI) planning and operations execution activities from business case approval to launch. Support achieving EPD growth targets by executing NPI and Portfolio Playbook launches on time.

      Core Job Responsibilities:

      • Launch new products on time as defined during the business case process unless launch delay approved by Commercial. Accountable for the end-to-end project management for all assigned NPI projects.

      • Excellent launch planning, which assures that all aspects of the product launch are fully covered and which drives tasks and milestones against ambitious deadlines to accelerate launches. Drive own results of all NPI that include budget alignment, timeliness and overall effectiveness of outcomes.

      • Monitor and communicate accurate and regular status updates of all assigned product launches to all stakeholders Coordinate cross-functional teams, within a matrix structure, to accomplish critical business goals.

      • Implement standardized launch planning/control processes and tools for priority (Gold launches) and non-priority (Silver and Bronze launches), ensure effective use by functional areas.

      • Continuously streamline and improve NPI processes and tools by incorporating lessons learned and root cause problem solving during launch execution and after the launch.

      Position Accountability/Scope:

      The position has direct impact on EPD's ability to meet short and long-term growth objectives by launching new products on-time.

      At any given time launch managers can work worldwide with any affiliate or market and with any manufacturing site or TPM (third party manufacturer) or business partner.

      Key stakeholders include Regulatory, Finance, Affiliates, Marketing as well as TPMs, Art Work Creation Management, Supplier and Customer Operations, Manufacturing, Business Processes and Quality.

      The position acts as a catalyst and key interface to all stakeholders, chairs launch teams, provides clear roles and responsibilities for all launch team members and takes all necessary actions to ensure on-time execution of all tasks assigned to launch team members.

      Minimum Education:

      • University Degree or Bachelor's Degree in one of the following disciplines: Controlling, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, Logistics Management.

      Minimum Experience/Training Required:

      • Minimum 5 years experience in pharmaceutical Operations (Manufacturing or Supply Chain).

      • Proven experience in managing and delivering multiple projects on-time and on-budget.

      • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within complex organization and collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders.

      • Ability to structure and analyze complex situations; ability to understand and go beyond data to draw conclusions.

      • Root cause problem solving and ability to learn from launches to drive continuous improvement of Operations launch management.

      • Proven communication skills – in English and written and verbal; including listening and presentation skills

      Desired skills/experiences include:

      • Work experience in one or more of the key operations stakeholders (Market access, Marketing, Sales, Clinical, Public Affairs, Regulatory, Internal and External Manufacturing, Supplier Management), preferably in the context of actual product launches.

      • Business exposure to international markets.

      • Knowledge or experience with Abbott relevant therapeutic areas preferred

      • Strong strategy development and planning skills coupled with necessary knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain and manufacturing activities.

      • Excellent knowledge of business financial systems and tools, including NPI tool.

      • Issue identification and strong problem analysis and solution development skills.

      • Proficiency with common program management communication software tools (e.g. MS Project, PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel) and techniques (i.e. plans, schedules, presentations, etc.).
