      JOB TITLE: LBCM Chief Internal Auditor (SMF5)

      SALARY: £146,931 - £172,860

      LOCATION(S): London, Bristol, Edinburgh

      HOURS: Full-time

      WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

      This opportunity is to lead our audit approach for the Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets (LBCM) business, working with senior executives and Board members of one of the UK’s largest banks to Help Britain Prosper.       About this opportunity

      The LBCM Chief Internal Auditor is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction in LBCM and is accountable to the Chair of the LBCM Audit Committee and the Audit Director, Commercial Banking.

      Key to success will be collaborating with leaders across the function and the business to ensure that our assurance work covers key and emerging risks and helps ensure that the LBCM business area achieves its strategy and its other priorities through managing its risks effectively.

      You will have a robust understanding of all entities within LBCM and will be responsible for third line oversight of and assurance on all entities. You will have accountability for the delivery of the audit plan for LBCM across all its geographic and divisional businesses, which will be delivered by a combination of the LBCM audit team and dedicated shared service internal audit resources.

      You will report to the Chair of the LBCM Audit Committee and the Audit Director, Commercial Banking, with an escalation reporting line to the Group Chief Internal Auditor. You will be a member of the LBCM Board Audit Committee; you will also attend other LBCM Group and Divisional committees as required.

      Responsibilities:

      • Ensuring that the LBCM audit plan appropriately covers key risks to the LBCM business and is delivered appropriately.

      • Attending and presenting reports to the LBCM Audit Committee and other senior Committees, reporting key insights from Group Audit’s work and whether remediation of existing items is progressing appropriately.

      • Assessing whether all significant risks to the LBCM business are identified and reported appropriately to the LBCM Audit Committee and Executive Management.

      • Leading and developing the LBCM audit team, ensuring that the team has sufficient skills and expertise.

      • Contributing to the strategic development of the wider Group Audit and Conduct Investigations (GA&CI) function

      • Maintaining an open, constructive, and cooperative relationship with regulators that supports sharing of information relevant to carrying their respective responsibilities.

      What you’ll need

      • Skills: Highly proficient audit and risk management skills gained in senior positions across the financial services industry.

      • Knowledge: of Markets products, risks, and regulatory requirements is essential.

      • Collaboration and influencing: ability to engage in a constructive manner and influence stakeholders across a broad range of business and functional areas within LBG to deliver the right outcomes for LBCM.

      • Effective business control: breadth of knowledge across the relevant businesses of LBCM and the wider financial services industry; understanding of economic, political and social trends; ability to identify, articulate and manage risks to strategy; record of supporting senior colleagues and delivering results.

      • Compliance with the regulatory system: high standards of conduct and behaviour, especially with regards to the interests of customers; record of delivery on compliance issues; understanding and adherence to colleague fitness and propriety requirements; understanding of the importance of documentary evidence for key decisions.

      • Responsible delegation of responsibility: understanding of corporate governance; willingness to lead from the front; ability to manage large teams, often across different jurisdictions.

      • Openness and cooperation: strong sense of professional ethics and service to the Group and society; willingness to collaborate openly with all stakeholders, including peers, customers and regulators; ability to communicate succinctly and effectively.
