      This position is open to LCSW or LMFT

      Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Conduct thorough client interviews to complete counseling intakes and psychosocial assessments.
      • Administer symptom inventories and screenings (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7, EPDS).
      • Provide DSM V diagnoses and engage clients in treatment planning.
      • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions in psychotherapy sessions to support clients in making progress toward identified goals.
      • Manage perinatal incoming referrals and refer clients out to external agencies, support services, psychiatry, and other specialists as needed
      • Actively collaborate with other healthcare providers and departments (e.g., OB, Prenatal Services, Primary Care, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health) to facilitate care coordination.
      • Lead psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic groups tailored for perinatal clients (e.g., Postpartum Wellness groups, lessons in Centering Pregnancy group sessions, etc.).
      • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and coordinate care.
      • Provide leadership and clinical consultation on perinatal mental health best practice models; generate recommendations for resources based on programming needs.
      • Maintain accurate and confidential electronic medical records, documenting assessments, diagnoses, care plans, interventions, and referrals.
      • Offer consultation services to multidisciplinary team members, evaluating the biopsychosocial implications of patients' medical concerns during medical assessments and treatment planning.
      • Consult with prenatal staff to ensure clients experiencing mental health symptoms and emotional well-being challenges are connected to behavioral health services.
      • Assist Behavioral Health Director to provide expertise and specialty training to staff as needed.
      • Engage in outreach to community organizations for partnership opportunities with public, private, and nonprofit sector groups to provide services.

      Position Requirements:

      • An LCSW or LMFT license issued by the State of California
      • Several years of employment experience in a similar position, preferably including a community clinic or similar environment
      • Working knowledge of social services resources in the Los Angeles area, and related reporting procedures.
      • Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to crisis situations, and a working knowledge of crisis management techniques and suicide intervention.
      • Effective communication skills both oral and written, including ability to make presentations
      • Bilingual skills in Spanish/English (preferred)
      • Computer skills sufficient to meet production demands of the job including Microsoft Office and Clinic software for case notes.
