      About the role

      Operations IT supports and partners with the Global Operations capability of AstraZeneca i.e., Pharmaceutical Technology Development, Manufacturing & Global Engineering, Quality Control, Sustainability, Supply Chain, Logistics and Global External Sourcing and Procurement areas. We operate out of our hub sites including in the UK, Sweden, US, and China, and out of our Global Technology Centres in India and Mexico.

      Job Description

      We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic strategy & performance professional with experience in supporting large, IT solutions & Service delivery teams spread globally with focus on driving continuous improvements of overall delivery performance.

      This strategic role is responsible for providing support in strategizing & driving performance of the global OPSIT-SSD organization reporting into the head of OPSIT-SSD. The role owns and drives performance metrics, tracking portfolio investments, budget forecasts, forecast accuracy & vendor management along with ensuring visibility with crisp & clear internal communications tasks across OPSIT-SSD organization.

      This role is pivotal in shaping our organization's long-term strategy and develop measures that realize OPSIT_SSD business objectives. The role will be responsible to assess organizational performance, developing achievable goals and implementing processes that improve organizational effectiveness and build a sustainable competitive advantage. This role will be a ‘critical-to-success’ factor for completion of key OPSIT-SSD processes & develop the strategy and measures to enable the global OPSIT-SSD to achieve its objectives in delivering its portfolio on time, every time & within budget.

      The role will work closely with Global OPSIT-SSD leads in maximizing value driven delivery via tier & performance management.

      ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

      § To be successful in this role one should have research experience, an analytical mind and outstanding presentation skills.

      § The role would facilitate OPSIT-SSD strategy, its alignment and adoption along with tracking its achievements & identifying continuous improvement opportunities.

      § Manages partnerships with service providers, track & monitor adherence to their SOWs & yearly spend working with others in OPSIT-SSD leadership team.

      § Facilitate and support OPSIT-SSD portfolio prioritisation processes and decision making.

      § Develop and deploy OPSIT-SSD communication & governance plans.

      § Ability to work with cross-functional teams and multiple leadership layers to develop critical business outcomes.

      § Good understanding of deploying OKRs/KPIs metrics for enhanced team’s performance and utilising benchmarking for effective target setting

      § Performance management approaches and application

      § Understanding of portfolio management concepts

      § Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills

      § Good understanding of budgeting and finance concepts and processes

      § Be familiar with business operations and demonstrate excellent leadership skills.

      Required Qualifications

      § MBA with proven experience in the IT domain.

      § 8 to12 yrs experience in total with Strong Business Consulting mindset

      § Previous experience controlling IT budget spend up to $10M.

      § Experience working in a global organisation where stakeholders and peers are geographically dispersed.

      § Ultimately, a top-notch strategy manager should be a strategic thinker with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

      Desirable

      § Manufacturing & Engineering IT Solutions exposure will be a plus.

      § Pharma or Health care domain exposure will be a plus.
