- Lead a matrixed team of IT and security personnel in implementation and operationalization of security technologies, practices and processes that support adherence to LKQ security policies, standards, and priorities to significantly reduce the overall security risk across LKQ and subsidiaries.
- Act as the bridge between security architecture, security operations and IT to facilitate implementation and operationalization of security technologies and controls to facilitate the realization of LKQ’s security roadmap, plan, and vision.
- Lead engineering efforts related to operational health and stability of platforms, monitoring and analytics capabilities, project work related to tool deployment, end user training platform support, as well as hardware and software lifecycle management.
- Work with other key constituents to assess the viability and effectiveness of new technologies which are part of the strategic roadmap. For new technologies which are adopted, this role would be responsible for supporting tactical deployment testing in a lab and providing the technical information/education to the global team members for full deployment.
- Develop direct relationships with leaders of various IT support teams globally as well as operational leaders. Participate in selecting next generation security controls, tools and strategies and lead a matrixed team of engineers charged with implementing, maintaining, and reporting on key security technologies and practices.
- Serve as L3 operational support for key security technologies, threat monitoring and security incident response.
- Assumes other duties as assigned.
- Lead the work of others who perform essentially the same work. May set priorities, schedule and review work, but have no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performance and/or make pay decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or related field.
- 10+ years of related experience.
- 5+ years of directly applicable work experience in a technical security role within a highly complex organization.
- Working knowledge of network layer security, host security on platforms, SIEM content development, SIEM data tools, and threat management.
- Familiar with the MITRE ATT&CK Framework and/or Cyber Kill Chain.
- CISSP, CISM, SANS or other comparable security certification(s).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, organize and lead complex technical initiatives across disparate global teams.
- Strong mentoring capability
- Ability to recognize and outline process requirements and flows
- Office environment, requires walking, standing, or sitting for several hours at time.
- Perform repetitive motion tasks on computer.
