- Mining Skills training implemented for B2 – D2 (mining operations).
- Mining continuous evaluations on the job-training conducted for MDP’s and UMO’s .
- Compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (including Sect. 54/55 and learning from incidents).
- Prioritize skills determined for mining competency.
- Compliance in terms of MQA and QCTO requirements.
- Best practice integration in training methodology.
- Progress reported against predetermined targets.
- Participation in the alignment of mining standards.
- Procedures and standards implemented in training execution.
- NQF 5 OD ETDP Higher Certificate
- Valid EB/Code 08 driver’s license
- Assessor Certificate and Registered
- Certified and Registered Moderator
- NQF6 Diploma in OD ETDP will be advantageous
- Blasting Certificate and Shift Supervisor Certificate will be advantageous.
- Mine Overseer ticket will be advantageous
- 3 years technical discipline experience of which 2 years as a Shift Supervisor or in Learning.
- 5 years conventional mining experience in production
- Proficient in training methodologies and adult learning principles.
- Advanced understanding of South African labour laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to training and development within the mining industry.
- Proficiency in instructional design methodologies, adult learning theories, and learning technologies for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), digital learning platforms, and data analytics tools for managing training data, tracking performance metrics, and generating actionable insights.
- Knowledge of safety management systems, risk assessment techniques, and incident investigation protocols to support the development of safety training programs.
Company Description
The Learning Officer is responsible for training, coaching and evaluating trainees enrolled in training programs. Responsible for designing learning tools and material and implementing processes aligned to the continuous evaluations aimed at enhancing the skills, safety, and productivity of employees within the mining operation. This role will ensure that the workforce is equipped to meet the statutory and regulatory requirements inline with the organizational goals and objectives.
