Job Description
- Req#: JR-4808
- Design, develop, and deliver training using the Systems Approach to Training in accordance with NAV CANADA policies.
- Facilitate teams of operational subject-matter experts in the analysis, design, development, delivery, and evaluation of training.
- Provide academic counselling to students and employees in training, and facilitate a positive learning environment.
- Coach instructors on effective adult training practices and on coaching techniques.
- Evaluate training activities including needs analysis, design, development, and delivery; and evaluate operational training products.
- Research new and effective adult training practices to enhance operational training initiatives for NAV CANADA.
- Successful completion of a University Degree in Education, or in a related field of study.
- Extensive coaching and training delivery experience.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating groups.
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects.
- Demonstrated experience in the development of technical training using the Systems Approach to Training, ADDIE, or a comparable training development model.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting a variety of training development teams.
- In-depth knowledge of the Systems Approach to Training, ADDIE, or comparable training development model.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint Online.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management tools and processes.
- Knowledge of adult training principles.
- Knowledge of training evaluation processes to measure learning, and to validate training design.
- 3 positions are Bilingual required
- 2 positions are Bilingual preferred
- Ability to provide educational consultation services to staff involved in training including the identification of learning challenges, implementation of learning solutions, learning or training preferences and approaches.
- Strong ability to plan, organize and independently manage training projects from task analysis to implementation.
- Strong ability to lead project teams in needs identification, design, development, delivery, evaluation, and validation.
- Ability to coach a multi-functional team.
- Ability to analyse problems, determine root cause, and recommend solutions.
- Strong ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing.
- Works well independently, and in teams, by displaying flexibility, active listening, and openness when dealing with others.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills through effective communication.
- Takes independent action and initiative to create opportunities or resolve/prevent problems.
- This position is eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
- Work location is as listed above for each vacancy.
- Travel required.

The Learning Quality Specialist is a key member of our team, responsible for training development and delivery, project management, facilitation, and academic counselling. Additional responsibilities include implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of training programs, policies, and practices.
This position requires collaborative work in a team, flexibility, and openness when dealing with others. The successful incumbent is passionate about training and adult learning.
