      Position Summary

      Baptist Health Princeton Hospital

      The Learning Specialist II is responsible for maintaining and enhancing clinical and / or educational competence for unit staff utilizing an Education Action Plan and annual Needs Assessment.


      Responsibilities

      • Provides general and specialty specific education to prepare unit staff to be safe, efficient and competent.
      • Develops and coordinates the orientation process for assigned areas, meets with orientees, preceptors and / or clinicians as needed.
      • Coordinates clinical laboratory training for allied health students.
      • Participates in corporate preceptor program.
      • Assists interested staff in the Orlando Health career development process, counseling and directing as needed.
      • Works with Corporate Education to assess competence of clinical staff annually by use of annual clinical review format and/or other skills evaluating process.
      • Plans, develops, coordinates and evaluates unit specific programs to maintain or increase the skill / knowledge of the assigned staff.
      • Ensures adult learning principles are integrated into all programs developed internally or presented by external sources.
      • Adheres to Orlando Health policy, procedures, value statements and Commitment to Excellence standards.
      • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
      • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
      • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, patient rights and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
      • May serve as a liaison and informal consultant to other Orlando Health departments/committees regarding educational efforts as assigned by the Manager.
      • Participates in process improvement activities as assigned.

      Qualifications

      Education/Training
      Master's degree in health related field.


      Licensure/Certification
      License in the State of Alabama: Registered Nurse.
      BLS/HealthCare Provider or Heartsaver CPR-AED certification as required by clinical area of responsibility.

      Experience
      Five (5) years of clinical experience, with two years of teaching/preceptor/training experience.


      Education/Training
