      The role/Te mahi

      As a Learning Support Coordinator, you will contribute to the success of students studying at the University of Otago by coordinating learning support for students with impairments.

      In this role, you will work closely with professional and academic staff within the University to provide an exceptional customer-focused service for our students. Disability Information and Support is a leader in the field of disability support in tertiary education and prides itself on providing expert advice and high-quality learning support that contributes to ensuring students have an outstanding University experience.

      To be successful as a Learning Support Coordinator you will have:
      • A relevant qualification or equivalent work experience.
      • Experience working in a similar environment or role.
      • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills relevant to the position.
      • The ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
      • Effective communication with excellent interpersonal skills.
      • An empathy with people who have a disability, impairment, medical condition or injury.
      • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of programmes.

      About our team/Mō te tīma

      Disability Information and Support – Te Pokapū Hāpai Huka Hauā is a student support service at the University of Otago - Te Whare Wānanga o Otāgo. Our role is to provide learning support, advice, advocacy and information to students who have a disability, impairment, injury or medical condition that affects their study.

      Our vision is to work in partnership to promote an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity, promotes comprehensive academic support, and empowers individuals with impairments to achieve their full potential.

      This is a permanent, part-time (25 hours per week), academic year-only (February to November) position.
