  Provide a combination of intervention-based instruction and classroom push-in support for Sixth through Eighth Grade students.
  Lead the Learning Support team and coordinate scheduling to maximize student support across multiple grade levels.
  Work to align the whole Kindergarten to Eighth Grade Learning Support program, guiding transitions between grade levels and teaching faculty while developing a dynamic model that includes both push-in and pull-out interventions.
  Closely partner with the Counseling team to provide holistic support and intervention strategies, ensuring a cohesive approach to student wellbeing.
  Teach three sections of Middle School Learning Support classes, applying research-based instructional methods and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  Utilize expertise in interpreting psychoeducational evaluation reports and developing Student Support Plans (SSP) for students, outlining strengths, needs, and recommended accommodations and interventions.
  Meet with families and students to design and finalize individualized Student Support Plans (SSPs) promoting goal achievement and academic growth.
  Conduct scheduled SSP reviews with parents and students throughout the academic year.
  Oversee standardized testing accommodations and modifications for Middle School students with identified learning needs.
  Partner with classroom teachers to refer, respond to, identify, and support students needing early intervention.
  Collaborate with the Academic Directors in coordinating, evaluating, and implementing Villa’s academic assessments.
  Meet regularly with the Academic Directors, School Counselors, and other Learning Support Teachers to advocate for students.
  Participate in grade level and division meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.
  Commit to the mission, vision, and values of Villa Academy.
  A Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field, with emphasis on teaching/learning.
  3+ years of working with students experiencing a broad range of learning needs, as well as a strong background in interventions for learning disabilities.
  Knowledge of and teaching experience with Wired for Reading phonics approach preferred.
  Knowledge of or teaching experience with Multi Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) preferred.
  A commitment to relationship-building, growing student confidence, and establishing a meaningful and collaborative learning environment for and with students.
  Knowledge and application of instructional technology including document cameras, interactive whiteboards, web-based learning software and Google apps.
  Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, teachers, and outside professionals.
  Positive energy and enthusiasm for working in a Preschool through Eighth Grade, faith-based independent school.

  Villa Academy seeks a full-time Learning Support Teacher & Coordinator to join its team beginning August 2024. This role plays a vital role in assisting students in Sixth through Eighth Grade who are facing challenges or those with identified learning differences. This educator will also guide Villa’s Learning Support team, collaborate with Middle School faculty, and oversee a comprehensive Kindergarten through Eighth Grade program. This is a ten-month, non-exempt position that follows the academic calendar, reporting to the Director of Teaching and Learning for Inquiry and Equity.
  
  The ideal candidate is a compassionate, student-centered educator who is professionally trained and experienced in best practices of learning support. The candidate will delight in working with young learners and their families, be a dedicated problem-solver, and support Villa Academy’s commitment to “education of the heart.”

  SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
  Anticipated salary ranges between $51,501.73 – 125,644.04/year. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
