- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
- 2+ years of human resources or customer service experience.
- Strong understanding of FMLA and other applicable leave laws and protections.
- Serves as the primary contact for leave-related inquiries, collaborating with managers, HR partners, Payroll, and vendors to resolve issues and ensure compliance.
- Guides employees through the leave process, explaining eligibility, documentation requirements, responsibilities, and return-to-work expectations.
- Administers leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, disability, military leave, and life insurance claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Monitors and escalates leave-related issues with third-party vendors, identifying discrepancies and minimizing disruptions for associates.
- Maintains accurate records, preserves confidentiality, stays current on leave laws, and attends required training, including HIPAA.
- Oversees benefits-related leave processes, including past-due premium reporting, coverage termination notifications, and supplemental pay calculations for military leave.
- Assists in drafting and updating company leave policies, knowledge articles, and training materials for HR Business Partners.
- Evaluates and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy while managing leave-related HR communications, such as Annual Enrollment updates.
- Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
- Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
- HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
