      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Provide expert counseling to employees and managers on disability, leave of absence, and workers' compensation
      - Administer Workers' Compensation benefits, ensuring prompt and adequate treatment for injured employees
      - Manage the leave of absence (LOA) process, coordinating with various departments to ensure compliance
      - Develop and conduct educational programs regarding workers’ compensation and leave policies
      - Evaluate employee options and ensure adherence to applicable laws and UC policies

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Minimum of four to five years of progressive experience in benefits, workers’ compensation, or related fields
      - Thorough knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, PFL, PDL, Workers Comp, ERISA, HIPAA, and relevant state and federal laws
      - Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues professionally
      - Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training
      - Proficient in case management software and knowledgeable about computer databases and Windows software

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - PHR/SPHR, SHRM/SHRM-CP, or similar credential
      - Professional administrative experience in higher education, particularly within the University of California system
