The University of Virginia's School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) seeks applicants to fill a tenure-ineligible part-time, limited term instructor position for the Accounting Post Baccalaureate Certificate Program. Courses are 15 weeks in length and are offered in a synchronous format.
SCPS employs academic faculty who have applicable content expertise at the appropriate level and who provide evidence of recent and/or current professional experience which applies to students’ achieving the goals and learning outcomes of the program. Subject area needs include, but are not limited to:
· Cost Accounting
· Introductory Accounting I
· Introductory Accounting II
· Cybersecurity for Accounting
Qualifications: This position is for graduate-level instruction. A Ph.D. or terminal degree in the teaching area or closely related field is preferred; a master’s degree in the teaching area or closely related field may be considered; relevant expertise is required. Applicants are expected to hold an active CPA license.
Two to four years relevant subject matter teaching experience is preferred, as well as extensive industry experience. Online teaching experience and familiarity with the use of technology in teaching, experience working with adult learners, and strong written and oral communication skills are highly desirable.

This is an at-will faculty wage position which does not carry benefits. Faculty wage appointments are subject to change and carry no expectation of renewal from year to year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: A Ph.D. or terminal degree in the teaching area or closely related field is preferred; a master’s degree in the teaching area or closely related field may be considered.
Experience: Relevant expertise is required.
Licensure: Applicants are expected to hold an active CPA license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
