The Department of World Languages & Culture at Spelman College is seeking a one-year time Full Time Lecturer or Instructor of Spanish for the 2024-2025 academic year. The position is renewable up to 5 years pending performance and faculty evaluation.
Responsibilities include teaching and curricular development from beginning to advanced language and culture, including the ability to teach and coordinate multi-section language courses. Experience and ability to support and build courses focused on Spanish for the Profession (medical, law, media) is preferred. Previous experience teaching Spanish for professions is desired. Experience with the effective use of technology in language pedagogy is required. The successful candidate will be expected to teach 4 courses of Spanish language at different levels, grading students’ work, and offering regular office hours for academic advisement. In addition, successful candidates will be expected to work with other faculty members in support of Spelman College’s goal to achieve excellence in teaching and to encourage students’ success.
