- Facilitation of the learning and teaching at undergraduate level in the ECP and or Cultural/Social Studies programme by preparing and presenting lectures; working closely with tutors to enhance students’ academic performance; setting up and marking assessments.
- Demonstrable evidence in working with undergraduate students in both online and face-to-face platforms (this includes tutoring, mentoring, and teaching)
- Curriculum development and assessment
- Conduct research and publishing preferably regarding students on ECPs.
- Active participation in departmental academic administration such as entering marks on the university’s Marks Administration System (MAS) as well as tracking and monitoring students’ academic performance subsequent to them completing the ECP.
- Contribute to community engagement
- A Master’s degree in an Arts and Humanities discipline (ECP and or Cultural/Social Studies).
- A research and publication record commensurate with the level of a University Lecturer (that is to say, at least one publication in an accredited journal or equivalent output).
- A completed PhD or a PhD nearing completion in a closely related field i.e. ECP.
- Supervision experience or co-supervision experience of postgraduate students (Honours, Masters)
- Experience in the facilitation of learning and teaching in the relevant fields, and/or
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Presentation and facilitation skills
- Adaptability and the ability to operate in a diverse environment
- Student-focused approach
- Planning and organising skills
- Computer literacy and e-learning skills
- Technical professional knowledge and skills in the discipline and in the core strategic areas, namely learning.

The Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP) is well established and located in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
We are looking to employ a Lecturer on a contract ending on 31 December 2025. The successful candidate should have a strong foundation in working with undergraduate students and have a keen interest in promoting academic literacy.
