The Department of World Languages and Cultures in the IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI invites applications for a Lecturer in Spanish. This ten-month, renewable, non-tenure track appointment begins August 1, 2024. This position is benefits-eligible with the opportunity for two levels of promotion. Responsibilities include:
Teach twelve (12) credit hours of beginning and intermediate Spanish language per semester as well as advanced (third-year) content courses in area of expertise with possibility of course release for multi-section course coordination. Contribute to the department’s efforts on student recruitment, retention, and success. Active participation in program and department committees, functions, and operations along with other school and/or campus service duties, and multi-section course coordination responsibilities. Ability to work in a collegial setting.The Department is looking for teachers who will contribute to our commitment to engage the city, state, nation and beyond through teaching and service, in consideration of the rich diversity of our campus and city as we prepare our graduates to enter and lead in an increasingly complex world.
