      Position Summary
      Metropolitan State University of Denver is seeking applicants for a full time lecturer position in the Department of Aviation and Aerospace Science to begin Fall 2025. This position requires teaching 15 credit hours. The position requires the Lecturer to maintain office hours as required to include advising/consultation with students, and engage in student-centered activities. Candidates will be expected to teach courses that include topics such as, but not limited to: space
      mission analysis and design, orbital mechanics, mission planning, space mission simulations and fundamentals of space operations. Courses
      may be on campus or online as to be determined.

      Duties/Responsibilities

      • This position requires teaching a semester course load of 15 credits only in the Department of Aviation & Aerospace Science (AVS).

      • It also requires students a minimum of 5 hours per week during the spring semester. Office hours and student advising may be scheduled and held online or on campus.

      Required Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
      • Minimum 5 years experience in higher education, teaching, or industry


      Preferred Qualifications

      • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in related field
      • Experience teaching Aerospace subjects in higher education and/or relevant industry experience.
      • Industry related experience in Aerospace / Space Mission Operations, to include mission planning, systems management, and elements of spacecraft design and manufacturing.
      • Knowledge of digital transformation or data analytics and space operations software simulation (applications and applied techniques)
      • Expertise in business development, particularly within the aerospace sector.
      • Experience in Advanced Manufacturing - design, materials, engineering, and processing

      Salary for Announcement
      The annual salary for this position is $73,613 at Lecturer rank. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience, specialty, and training.
