      GEICO is seeking an organized and experienced Legal Assistant II to support mid-level administrative duties to the Legal Claims organization. This position reports to the Head of Claims, Legal. This individual will be a self-starter with a proven record of problem solving, attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities and to provide high-level assistance in fast-moving department. Skills required include draft/revise routine legal documents, handling multiple administrative and legal tasks to support attorneys, and maintaining relationships with attorneys, outside departments, courts, clients, and third parties.

      The successful candidate will be professional, discreet, resourceful, responsible, reliable, and exceptionally organized. Superior prioritization and multi-tasking skills, as well as strong writing and Microsoft Excel skills, are required.

      Basic Qualifications:

      • 3-5+ years of experience in a Legal Support role

      • Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite required – Specifically Excel

      • Perform various administrative tasks such as receive, assign, and process monthly claims

      • Collaborate with different organizations within the business – Finance, Regional teams, etc.

      • Maintain filing system, both physical and digital

      • Special projects and other tasks as assigned

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Assisted in a legal company or department

      • Individual that has worked with insurance claims in the past

      Location: This position is a Hybrid role and will require 3 days working onsite in our Chevy Chase, MD office.
