We at Yara are part of a global network, collaborating to profitably and responsibly solve some of the world's key challenges - resource scarcity, food insecurity and environmental change.

      About the Unit

As members of a central global function within the Yara group, our lawyers are an integral part of the group’s varied international activities. Yara offers driven and commercially minded lawyers broad and complex professional challenges, and the opportunity to contribute to strategically important negotiations and decision-making processes. This includes actively supporting Yara’s ambition to deliver sustainable food solutions and enable a hydrogen economy.

      About the Role

As the Yara lawyer based in France plans to retire next year, we have identified the need for a new legal counsel to join our legal team and who would be based at Yara’s Paris La Défense office. The successful candidate will be the main legal contact for Yara’s business units in France and provide strategic legal advice on a broad range of legal issues related to various types of commercial contracts, joint ventures, M&A, infrastructure projects, and corporate governance.

      Responsibilities

      • Engage directly with internal clients and external stakeholders to develop and execute key strategic initiatives.
      • Identify and proactively manage legal risks within the specified region.
      • Work with external counsel to prepare and negotiate various types of commercial contracts related to products, services, intellectual property, marketing, and real property.
      • Provide strategic advice regarding environmental and administrative law issues associated with Yara’s assets and operations in France.
      • Work with the business to respond to changes in regulatory requirements, including those related to competition law and sanctions.
      • Support various corporate governance activities for Yara’s legal entities in France.
      • Assist with various forms of dispute resolution.
      • Work with internal clients, external counsel, and other members of the Yara Legal team to develop templates, checklists and guidance for best practices.
      • Prepare and present legal training materials.
      • Contribute to the general activities of the Yara legal department.

      Profile

      • Relevant university degree, preferably a Master of Laws or equivalent legal qualification.
      • Qualified lawyer with at least 10 years of post-graduate legal experience
      • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
      • Solution-driven with a commercial mindset.
      • Results-oriented with a structured approach.
      • Strong collaboration and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
      • Desire to continuously improve professional competence.
      • Genuine interest in contributing to the collegial environment that Yara’s global legal team has developed over a number of years.
      • Excellent language skills in French and English.

      Additional Information

Administratively, the position will report to the head of Yara France, but the successful candidate will be a key member of the global Yara corporate legal department.
