      Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

      We are looking for a legal counsel to primarily support our US-based retirement and benefits solutions business with a focus on pension and benefits administration/technology services and solutions. As a business-oriented commercial lawyer, you will support TELUS Health’s activities in these businesses across the United States. As a successful candidate, you will be engaged in a variety of transactions and legal matters, including client contract negotiations, strategic partnerships and alliances, requests for proposals, new product launches and support with regulatory and compliance matters. In addition, through your collaboration with other members of the TELUS Legal & Regulatory Affairs team, you will gain exposure to other areas of TELUS’s business and contribute to making TELUS an employer of choice for legal professionals.

      You’re the missing piece of the puzzle. As a successful candidate you will be :

      • engaged in a variety of legal matters, including drafting and negotiating agreements and advising on new product launches;
      • Respected for your legal skills, business acumen, initiative, creativity, learning-oriented mindset and collaborative style;
      • Confident at engaging and interacting with sophisticated stakeholders, both internally and externally;
      • Noted for your ability to effectively communicate legal advice (including written) to a diverse range of stakeholders;
      • Recognized for your record of successfully managing multiple, concurrent files and priorities and delivering on commitments across multiple business teams;
      • Called 3 or more years ago to the Bar.
      • Member in good standing with a Law Society of any Canadian Provinces or US state bar.

      Great-to-haves

      • Experience negotiating technology-focused contracts (including Software as a Service offerings or other large software solutions offerings).
      • A background in retirement/savings plans, however pension law knowledge and expertise is not a requirement for this position.
      • Knowledge of US privacy laws is considered an asset.
