Job Description

- Provide legal advice and guidance on various legal issues affecting the organization's operations and business activities.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, RfP submissions and legal correspondence.
- Act as the primary interface with the Procurement Team, assisting with the review and negotiations of supplier agreements and liaising with the relevant stakeholders.
- Assist the legal business partners by creating, refreshing the relevant templates.
- Support Head of Legal EMEA in corporate and HR matters in the region.
- Identify legal risks in the region and propose strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as executives, managers, and cross-functional teams, to ensure legal considerations are incorporated into business decisions.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision-making and provide recommendations on legal issues.
- Manage and coordinate external legal resources, such as external counsel, when necessary.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends to proactively identify potential legal risks and opportunities.
- Develop and deliver legal training programs to educate employees on legal compliance and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with developments in the legal field and maintain a strong understanding of industry-specific regulations and requirements.
- Master's degree in Law from an accredited university or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) practicing law.
- Strong knowledge and experience in commercial/contract law, with a string preference for IT law and licensing.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills.
- Sound judgment and ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple competing deadlines and projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal professionals.
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Excellent English language skills. A good level of the Dutch or another European language is a strong advantage.
- CIPP/E certification is an additional advantage as well.

We are seeking an experienced legal counsel to join our team. As Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing expert business-flavoured legal advice and support to our organization. Your role will involve handling a wide range of legal matters, including but not limited to contracts, RfPs, compliance and privacy-related matters. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) as a practicing attorney (in a law firm or as an in-house counsel), with a strong background in commercial/contract law.
