      What you will do::

      This position is a key member of the organization’s legal team and will serve as an advisor and counselor to Human Resources and business partners globally on employment, labor and EHS issues. This role supports all aspects of HR on a global scale, including Total Rewards (benefits, payroll, leave of absence), Talent Management, and Talent Acquisition. This role reports to the Company’s Vice President & General Counsel – Labor & Employment.

      How you will do it:

      • Provide practical, sound, risk-based and business-oriented legal counsel regarding state, federal and foreign employment law issues including recruitment and hiring, retention, performance management, background checks, individualized assessments, discipline, terminations, discrimination, retaliation, harassment and hostile work environment, accommodations, leaves of absence, immigration, conflicts-of-interest, pay and benefits, D&I initiatives, workplace safety, reorganizations, reductions in force, executive compensation, immigration, international assignments, employment agreements, and restrictive covenant issues.

      • Responsibility for responding to administrative agency charges, audits, compliance reviews, and investigations pending before EEOC, NLRB, DOL, OSHA and any corresponding state or local human rights agencies or departments of labor in the US and defending any investigations and/or audits.

      • Primary responsibility for responding to any subpoena received for employment records for current and/or former employees in the US, including working with multiple departments to gather records, review and redact records, raise objections and communicate directly with legal representation on scope of subpoenas.

      • Manage outside counsel on employment litigation to meet organization goals in a cost-effective manner. Assesses best case strategy and need for settlement on litigation, guides outside counsel, collaborates with outside counsel on key strategy decisions, and supervises the work of outside counsel. Provides advice and strategic recommendations directly to business leaders regarding litigation management.

      • Draft, review interpret and negotiate agreements, including employment agreements, separation agreements, restrictive covenants, confidentiality agreements, retention bonuses, and settlement agreements.

      • Actively participates in providing regular and timely legal information as a continuing educational resource, including development of presentation materials, delivery of presentations, and development of written summaries regarding labor and employment regulatory/legal changes affecting employers.

      • Legal partner to US EHS team and provides daily advice on health and safety related issues within the US Plants, including participating in internal investigations into safety related incidents, overseeing investigations and audits conducted by external government agencies, and updating and implementation of compliant policies.

      • Support payroll in garnishment proceedings including primary responsibility for mitigating risk created by compliance gaps between payroll and third-party vendor. This includes primary responsibility for engaging outside counsel to address court filings and/or negotiating settlements to avoid further liability.

      • Responsible for HR compliance which includes investigations of employment related concerns (globally), compliance with EU Whistleblower Directive, US required government reporting (EEO, AAP Plans and VETs) and immigration compliance (I-9).

      • Key stakeholder in managing the Integrity Helpline, including assignment of investigations and preparing strategy for same, creating investigation process, educating HR and business leaders on investigation process and best practices.

      • Responsible for tracking investigation metrics and analyzing trends to provide targeted recommendations for compliance at locations and/or regions based on nature of concerns and investigation results.

      • Minimum 10 years of rich experience in labor and employment law
