      General Description:

      EDP Renewables North America (“EDPR”) is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. As part of our commitment, EDPR’s Legal team is seeking a current first or second year law student in good standing whose background experience, personal attributes and/or characteristics contribute to EDPR’s equity, diversity, and inclusion goals. The Summer Intern will work side-by-side with the U.S. legal team of experienced attorneys and gain a general understanding of how an in-house legal department operates. The Summer Intern will be provided with a realistic taste of legal life as an in-house corporate lawyer.

      This is a paid 10-week, full-time internship that will start on or around June 2024, with an end date in August 15, 2024.

      Main Accountabilities:

      • Garner hands-on experience through relevant projects and assignments
      • Bring a creative and optimistic attitude to the world of renewable energy
      • Participate in Summer Intern events and volunteerism
      • Learn about the U.S. renewable energy industry and apply knowledge to various projects
      • Attend weekly ‘lunch and learn’ department presentation meetings
      • Provide support to the corporate legal team
      • Assist in administrative tasks as needed
      • Additional duties may be required

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Current 1L or 2L law student in good standing
      • Strong academic credentials
      • Interest in real estate property and corporate law
      • Interest in renewable energy
      • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Outstanding interpersonal skills
      • Community involvement
      • Prior work experience
      • Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products preferred.
      • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise preferred

      Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

      • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
      • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
      • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
      • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
      • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
