      The Legal Project Management Analyst will advance the Firm’s Legal Project Management (LPM) strategic initiatives by focusing primarily on supporting the Firm’s legal project managers and Lead Analysts with regard to data collection, reporting, and basic matter budget monitoring. The LPM Analyst will accomplish this by providing matter budget monitoring, matter management system support for the Firm’s lawyers, and on-demand data reporting and basic analysis.

      Responsibilities

      Essential Functions:

      • Matter Budgeting and Monitoring
        • Works with the appropriate support staff to ensure the attachment of phase and task code sets (matter plans) for matters based on the agreed-upon fee arrangements and the structure developed by the lead analysts and project managers
        • Enters matter budgets into Umbria, the Firm's matter management/budgeting tool
        • Provides routine and ongoing monitoring of matters’ fees against their budgets
        • Liaises with the Firm’s billing team when needed to ensure proper billing of fee arrangements
        • Updates budgets as needed

      • Matter Management System (Umbria) Support
        • Assists lawyers with the entry of matter budgets into Umbria
        • Provides functional, front-line technical and administrative support to the lawyers with regard to their use of Umbria
        • Resolves basic issues and coordinates with the appropriate internal parties and/or the vendor to resolve more complicated issues
        • Prepares recurring reports and budget alerts and maintains a database to track those reports

      • Data Collection, Reporting, and Project Management Support
        • Utilizes the Firm’s various databases to collect relevant data in response to requests from lawyers, project managers, analysts, and other internal stakeholders
        • Prepares basic analysis with regard to data and prepares reports re same for the appropriate internal stakeholders
        • Presents data analysis when appropriate
      • Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives

      Qualifications

      Education/Training/Certifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in a related area. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job.

      Professional Experience:

      • Prior experience working in a professional-services setting required
      • Law firm or in-house legal experience preferred
      • Exposure to basic project management methodologies preferred
      • Experience working remotely, or with remote stakeholders, preferred

      Technical Skills:

      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with particular emphasis on Excel, required
      • Familiarity with and ability to modify and execute simple SQL queries preferred
      • Experience with Prosperoware’s Umbria Matter Management System is preferred

      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm as well as clients and outside vendors
      • Ability to work in a diverse team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the Firm and its partners
      • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with shifting priorities
      • Must be a self-starter with a high level of initiative
      • Possesses strong customer service skills and the ability to anticipate the needs of internal stakeholders, and exercise independent judgment in the delivery of that service
      • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects
      • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion
      • Exercises solid strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

      Physical Requirements:

      • May require occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
