      Job Description

      Primary Responsibilities

      • Performs research, current awareness, monitoring, and other activities related to state and federal legislative and regulatory processes.
      • Evaluates resources, tools, and technologies.
      • Serves as subject and product specialist and liaison to designated legal teams, committees, departments and/or local offices.
      • Along with all Research Analysts, spends part of each day as “Librarian on Duty” monitoring workflow ticketing system, conducting reference interviews and completing or appropriately re-directing reference requests.
      • Develops and delivers training for the firm’s Billable Credit for Research and Technology Training program.
      • Participates in bi-weekly staff, and other department meetings.

      Qualifications

      • MLS from an accredited program or 5 years of experience in Law Firm library/research positions, preferably focused on legislation and regulation.
      • Familiarity with state and federal legislative and regulatory processes and information sources.
      • Strong written and oral communications, including the ability to summarize lengthy complex information to help attorneys quickly find the information they need is an essential qualification.
      • Intellectual curiosity, creativity, a strong customer service orientation and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality of firm and client information.
      • Familiarity with Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Government, Bloomberg Law, Fiscal Note and Quest is preferred.

      Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for the position in accordance with the California Fair Chance Act.

      California and New York Pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skillset and experience $90,000 - $115,000
