      The Probate clerk in the letters and copies section assists customers with researching and locating documents within the County Clerk's database.

      Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Responsible for ordering letters and copies

      • Logs, processes, and fulfills customer orders for letters and copies via e-mail, fax, mail, telephone, and in-person

      • Pulls files for customers in the office

      • Administers oaths on court days

      • Makes court runs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when necessary

      • Holds restricted letter applications that are pending filing of oath/bond. etc.

      • Performs other duties as assigned at the discretion of the Director of Probate

      Education and Experience:

      • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution; and
      • Minimum of one (1) year of paid clerical work experience.

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Basic proficiency skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

      • Must be detail oriented.

      • Good prioritization and organizational skills.

      • Ability to work as a team player and work well with others.

      • Ability to work overtime without prior notification and work flexible hours as required.

      • Ability to handle multiple phone lines and multi task.

      • Ability to display compassion and understanding.

      • Regular Full-time

      • Monday - Friday | 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M

        • Overtime as warranted

        • $16.50 Hourly

        Location:

        • Civil Courthouse | 201 Caroline Houston, Texas (This position does not include paid parking; a subsidized Harris County Metro card is available after employees receive their first paycheck.)


        Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen.
