      SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Involves providing liaison library services and knowledge management services such as literature searching, developing and curating a repository of accessible resources, managing and maintaining a knowledge repository, instruction, and other library related processes and projects.

      CAREER LEVEL SUMMARY: Requires strong conceptual and working knowledge in job area. Works independently, with moderate level of guidance and general supervision. Some direct / relevant experience necessary to perform a range of assignments related to job discipline. Applies experience to accomplish difficult tasks.

      SCOPE: Provides collaborative and innovative information and knowledge management services through library and technical services. The knowledge management librarian will be responsible for developing and curating the knowledge base of scientific resources developed by a specific division at CCHMC (Cincinnati Children s Hospital Medical Center) and making them accessible to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. The librarian will also enable participants to contribute what they are learning, co-create innovations, and search relevant literature and evidence. This role will predominantly engage with collaborators in a hybrid work environment using a virtual knowledge management platform.

      REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

      · Learning Modules - Develop and support learning modules utilizing multiple media formats and technologies to instruct the assigned division in the process of implementing the use of evidence-based practice in the knowledge sharing platform, both in person and virtually.

      · Subject Expertise - Serve as an information and knowledge management subject matter expert (SME) in areas such as clinical research, discovery, access and management of information and knowledge resources. Model an excellent understanding of Evidence Based Decision Making principles and an interest in teaching and researching using Evidence Based Decision Making principles.

      · Collaboration and Outreach - Collaborate with researchers, clinical faculty, fellows, residents, nurses, allied health professionals or students on journal clubs, seminars, literature searches, publishing, systematic literature review projects, and other clinical/research forums embedded within the assigned division.

      · Resource Management Lifecycle - Implementation and maintenance of the resource management lifecycle including access, management, discovery and evaluation of resources, to include relevant software and systems

      · Liaison Specific Roles: Create and manage a virtual knowledge base of scientific resources (e.g., scholarly literature, websites, databases, blogs, research sites, etc.) using an external knowledge sharing platform (Hive Networks Phlox); Lead efforts to capture, classify, and organize knowledge (develop ontology of resources) and information across the assigned division and its internal and external partners; Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of knowledge management initiatives and provide regular reports to senior management of the assigned division.

      EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

      Required:

      · Master’s in Library Science (MLS), Master’s in Library Information Studies (MLIS), or an advanced related degree.

      · Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with strong customer service orientation.

      · Strong initiative and ability to function independently and as a critical contributing member of the Pratt Library Team and the assigned division.

      · Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

      · Creative approach to active adult learner engagement.

      · Ability to work in a highly flexible, hybrid work environment.

      Preferred:

      · Experience working in a medical or academic/research library.

      · Demonstrated interest in using emerging technologies and software to create solutions that address the evolving information needs of a clinical research enterprise.

      · High level of analytical skills.

      · Expert in data collection, organization, analysis, and metrics reporting.

      · Demonstrated strong interpersonal and collaboration skills,

      · Fluency with evidence-based practice techniques and strong literature searching skills. Interest in teaching evidence-based principles to hospital faculty, staff, and trainees;

      · Proficient in searching biomedical and interdisciplinary resources such as PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, CINAHL and biomedical databases.

      · Experience with LibApps platform (LibGuides, LibWizard, LibCal).

      · Experience with citation management tools, especially EndNote, and the ability to use, teach, and assist researchers with these tools.

      · Ability to communicate effectively with diverse client groups across CCHMC, the assigned division, and the greater community.

      · Understanding and use of major library/ILS systems.
