      Lincoln City Libraries is looking to hire Library Aides to work primarily at the Bennett Martin Public Library (136 South 14th Street).


      The selected candidate(s) is anticipated to begin work in early July.


      Part-time, Monday - Sunday, Hours: 10-29 hours/week as assigned, including day, evening, and weekend hours. Weekly schedule may vary. Additional hours may occasionally be available, and schedule adjustments may be necessary around holidays and other closures. This position is not eligible for Holiday Pay or other benefits.


      Library Aides provide excellent service to our customers behind the scenes by ensuring returned materials are checked in correctly and distributed to their next destination. They are also visible in our libraries as they accurately shelve materials to be readily accessible by staff and customers, pull items to fill customer hold requests, and perform various collection maintenance tasks such as inventory, accurate relocation of mis-shelved items, organizing materials, and pulling assigned materials for removal from the collection. Aides may assist with set-up or tear-down for library programs.


      Examples of work performed: Shelves materials efficiently, performs shelf reading, checks in materials, empties book drops and sorts materials, assists with collection maintenance such as shifting, search lists, inventories, weeding.
