- Assists students with library needs, including retrieving information from online patron’s catalog, online reference databases, magazine indexes, Internet resources, Microsoft Office Suite. Encourage students in use of library/media center, assist students with assignments/projects including multimedia production tools, graduation projects, and provide assistance with printer, scanner and microfilm readers.
- Assists the librarian when he/she is teaching classes. Supervise students during study halls and after regular school hours. In circumstances when the librarian is teaching class, and after regular school hours, the clerk typist assumes the full responsibility of basic library management and function.
- Performs all of the duties related to circulation of materials; checking out, checking in, sending overdue/fine notices, collecting fine/lost book money, process library materials, including the use of the Winnebago (Library Circulation/Catalog Computer System) to create and refine library records.
- Assists teachers in obtaining instructional materials and set up computer lab time. Loan and tracking of audiovisual equipment; digital cameras, tape records, television/video cassette recorders, presentation carts
- Performs inventory and ongoing shelf reading while continually analyzing the library’s materials, allows clerks to aid the librarian in collection development
- Interlibrary loan requests processed for other state libraries. Keep accurate records and create reports for the Access Pennsylvania Database System
- Assists the librarian in gathering data to prepare the yearly budget. Purchase orders are generated for all library acquisitions including books, magazines, newspapers, online databases, services and supplies. Follow up purchase orders and receipt of supplies with the school district administration and vendors.
- Processes and maintains periodicals and archives. Maintain contact with the appropriate vendors.
- Checks and maintains links to library’s website
- Orders, inventories and distributes technology supplies for the building
- Troubleshoots technical problems with the computers, printers and scanners
- Performs such other duties, consistent with the position, as may be assigned by the Librarian, Building Principal, or Assistant Principal(s).

The High School has an opening for a Library Clerk, Class 6, $28.39 per hour, 8 hours per day, 10-month position.
Position Title: Clerk Typist (High School Library)
Qualifications:
Reports To and Evaluated By: The Clerk Typist (High School Library) reports directly to the school librarian and is evaluated by the Building Principal or Assistant Principal(s).
Principal Functions:
The Clerk Typist (High School Library) assists the school librarian in providing clerical and technical support in the maintenance of a quality research center.
