Essential Job Functions: May include any of all of the following: supervises the daily operations of a section or service area within a department of the library including training; maintains files, prepares various types of materials for use by the public; searches bibliographies; prepares reports; keeps financial and statistical records for each library or division of the library; types correspondence; provides information and assistance to the public; collects money for fines, lost books, etc. and prepares deposits.

Works in a normal public library environment; must be available to work anytime the library is open.Knowledge: Knowledge of library techniques and procedures; knowledge of the use of a personal computer, tablet and Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills/Abilities: Ability to work well with the public and other employees; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to operate cash register, calculator, tablet and personal computer; ability to type 35 words per minute; ability to supervise small groups of employees (full-time and part-time); ability to assist the public with internet searches, online job applications, creating email accounts, etc.
Physical Requirements: Constantly sees and hears; frequently kneels, stands, stoops, sits, walks, writes by hand, types, files, sorts, operates a calculator, carries, holds, lifts, drags and pulls objects weighing up to 25 lbs., squats and twists body.
Education/Experience: Associate degree and one year library experience or high school graduate, or equivalent, and two to four years library experience.This position requires 100% on-site work. Applicant selected for hire shall be subject to drug/alcohol test and background screening.
