- Provide direct individual and group clinical supervision to interns and associate licensed staff (those pursuing full licensure).
- Participate in interviewing and selecting intern candidates.
- Partner with university program contacts to ensure up-to-date information on the internship and practicum requirements for each and to support the intern in meeting expectations for their program. Completes required assessments on intern professional skills development for university partnership.
- In collaboration with CSEW Director, supports development and review of policies and procedures related to the internship program.
- Develop and implement supervision notes with clinical staff to support the process of record keeping.
- Review clinical documentation with clinicians as needed for staff development and training follow-up. Reviews documentation of casework in CSEW’s electronic health record system within supervision sessions with staff and provides guidance as needed.
- May provide training to the team regarding clinical topics as needed.
- Ensure CSEW and the intern meet the internship expectations of the school program and follow CSEW’s policies and procedures around the internship programming set within the guidelines of CACREP, the universities, and the legal and ethical requirements of the intern’s scope of work.
- Monitor caseloads and assist the Director with ensuring that CSEW and the staff comply with the legal and ethical requirements for providing mental health treatment services within the state of Washington.
- Attend staff meetings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Independently licensed to practice in WA state including either a LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT.
- Master’s degree or higher in counseling, marriage and family therapy or clinical social work from a CACREP accredited university.
- Has mastery knowledge of clinical practice within US, crisis intervention, de-escalation, mental health best practices as related to counseling and psychotherapy, resource management and referral services, and legal and ethical dilemmas mitigation.
- Ability to supervise provisionally licensed team members working towards full licensure by meeting the WA DOH criteria for a licensed supervisor as defined by the department of health to include having completed 20 hours in training on clinical supervision.
- Strong understanding of legal and ethical requirements as they relate to the provision of mental health treatment and the best practices employed to address issues. Some awareness of the difference in ethical standards across disciplines of the intern programs (Counseling & Psychotherapy, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Social Work).
- Strong technology skills. CSEW is a paperless facility, therefore all positions require the ability to work with and across various computer platforms and apps.
- Has worked with diverse populations including transcultural (cross-cultural) counseling experience.
- 3-5 years of clinical supervision experience.
- Broad range of experiences in a diversity of settings.
- Experience working with an interpreter during sessions.

CSEW (Center for Social Emotional Wellbeing) at the Refugee Women’s Alliance operates as a licensed mental health facility and a clinical training facility with a mission to recruit people from the communities that we serve into provider positions in the field of mental health and wellbeing. Through the clinical training facility model, we support providers with varying education and experience to gain additional education towards independent licensure and experience in the field while pursuing their professional development goals. The vision is to create a learning model that ensures the highest quality of services for the clients and communities that ReWA serves. All staff are given leadership opportunities to work collaboratively on committees addressing key CSEW needs, provide training and be the subject matter expert on the work they have done within those committees and share collaboratively the responsibilities of ensuring CSEW and its staff continue to develop and grow within the learning model.
This position supports this mission by providing supervision and oversight for the internship program and intern clinical work as well as supervision for the associate licensed clinicians pursuing their independent licensure. This position works in partnership with the CSEW Director on developing policies and procedures that support the workflows and opportunities of these clinical staff and their professional development.
