      Position: LPN

      Schedule: 8am-8pm (flexible schedule) some weekend requirements

      Location: Discharge unit, Forsyth Medical Center, Winston Salem.

      Seeking Licensed Practical Nurse to work in our Discharge Unit transporting patients.

      NHFMC Discharge Unit is a lounge waiting area for discharged patients on the first floor. We are seeking an LPN with excellent customer service skills to keep our patients safe as they are being discharged. Excellent opportunity to get to know employees throughout the hospital as you are transporting our patients.

      The Licensed Practical Nurse serves as a member of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with other team members to provide care that promotes optimal health. The Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the care of the patient during their health journey. The Licensed Practical Nurse accepts accountability for provision of care, as part of the RN led team, in accordance with the current policies and procedures.       Qualifications

      • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of accredited Practical Nursing Program, required.
      • Experience: One year of relevant experience, preferred.
      • Licensure/Certification: Appropriate state LPN license, required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. CPI certification within 3 months of hire for Behavioral Health departments, required.
      • Additional Skills (required):
        • Computer skills, Phone call etiquette, Organizational Skills.
        • Ability to comprehend policies and procedures and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
        • Behavioral Health units' requirements only

          • Ability to intervene in a therapeutic manner for behavior patterns demonstrated by patients with a mental illness, personality disorder, substance abuse or developmental disabilities.
          • Knowledge of psychiatric medications, side effects and treatment interventions, knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, mental health concepts, and evidence based therapeutic interventions and treatments. CPI certification within three months.
          • Ability to establish and maintain control of violent patients, defend self and others against violent assaults, ability to react appropriately in psychiatric crises, ability use violent and non-violent restraints per policy and procedure.
