Position Description:
The Beaverton School District welcomes applications for licensed substitutes in all areas for the 2023-24 school year. Applicants should be able to establish a positive classroom climate, possess excellent classroom management skills, and be able to continue the established curriculum in a variety of classrooms. Candidates should possess the skills and confidence to access digital tools and resources should the need arise. The District offers tuition reimbursement and health benefits (in the year following a minimum number of substitute days), professional development opportunities, and a work incentive each time period for substituting a minimum number of days!

Necessary Qualifications:
Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold a valid Oregon teaching license issued by TSPC. A valid teaching license issued by TSPC will allow a substitute applicant to substitute in all grade levels and subject areas.

Note: If you are seeking sponsorship for a Restricted Substitute Teaching License (have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and do not hold a teaching license), in the licensure section of the application, you may state:

Notes about the application:

Ensure contact information for your references is up to date, with a valid email address.
At least one reference must be a supervisor (current or former).
References will need to be completed prior to being selected for an interview.
For the 2023-24 school year, letters of recommendation and transcripts will not be required on the licensed substitute application. (Letters and transcripts will be requested if you express interest in other licensed positions.)

There is no set time frame as to when you may be contacted for a screening interview; HR will be screening substitute applications throughout this posting timeline. Salary Range/Pay Rate: $223.00/8 hour day and eligble for work incentive based on number of days worked
