      Job Summary

      Assist with designing and implementing robust and comprehensive programming for the Independent Living residents of Carlyle Place, with emphasis on the Six Pillars of Wellness (social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical, and occupational) observed by the Resident Life department. Programming shall be provided on campus and off-site.

      Reports directly to the Events Planning Manager.

      Essential Functions

      • Assists in the planning, developing, researching, creating, scheduling, coordinating, contracting, ordering (materials/supplies), publicizing, leading, decorating, executing, and evaluating each activity and event offered through Resident Life, as directed by the Events Planning Manager.
      • Responsible for providing detailed records of participation
      • Provides information to Transportation and Dining services for scheduling and billing purposes
      • Works closely with our Intergeneration Program (Partnership with Mercer University students who live on our campus)
      • Assists with publicizing activities and events through our regularly-utilized multiple media platforms
        • i.e. weekly and monthly calendars, newsletters, flyers, bulletin boards, notices, community app, elevator slides, posters, emails, social media updates, meetings, and general in-person notifications
      • Assists in the development and creation, and uploading/removing digital content to the Carlyle Place Communities App and in-house television channel
      • May serves as a staff liaison to the IL Programming Committee to promote an open exchange of input, ideas, and feedback with regard to monthly activities and events
      • Assist with resident-led programs as assigned by the Events Planning Manager

      Education, Training, and Experience

      • Associate's Degree required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Preferred fields of study include Recreational Therapy, Communications, or Hospitality.
      • 2 years experience in Activities or Event Planning preferred
      • Dementia Care Training preferred
      • Shall possess solid understanding of senior population
      • Ability to assume a Leadership role at activities, events, and/or programs
      • Strong communication skills, and capable of successfully multitasking

      Other Job Requirements, Licenses, Certifications

      • Must be able to effectively communicate in person, by phone, through email/text, etc.
      • Must complete all Carlyle Place, Atrium Health Navicent mandatory training requirements and complete all competencies including department specific training, as required
      • Overnight, out-of-town/weekend travel may be required on occasion
