- Assist in assuring the operation of the lifts in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations of the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board (CPTSB), United States Forest Service, American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), TSG Ski & Golf “Telski” Liability Insurance policy and Telski’s company policies and procedures.
- Provide daily supervision, delegation, and motivation of lift operators, lead, foreman, dispatch, and supervisor positions. Ensure staff is following all dept procedures, while providing a high level of service and work ethic.
- Monitor daily performance and appearance of staff. Address any disciplinary issues immediately.
- Monitor lift area set-up, signage, and snow work on a regular basis and make changes when needed. Coordinate with supervisors and other departments regarding lift area needs.
- Responsible for the hiring, performance evaluation, discipline, and development of all lift operations staff.
- Develop training and orientation program and administer to all staff.
- Develop and maintain departmental standards for operating lifts, station grooming, and safety practices.
- Ensures that daily lift inspections, safety checks and logs are properly completed.
- Develop budgets, business plan, and long/short term planning for Lift Operations Department.
- Oversee all lift operations administrative duties such as scheduling, lift logs, personnel records, incident and accident reports, emails etc. Ensure these records are properly filled out, organized, and archived.
- Develop, implement, and complete projects on time and within approved budget.
- Identify and submit all capital proposals
- Coordinate with lift maintenance to ensure proper care and operation of lifts.
- Attend all Resort Operations and Manager/Director meetings
- Monitor all departmental supply needs and order new supplies when needed.
- Familiar with daily snow and grooming report.
- Address any issues from guests or other departments in a timely and professional manner.
- Facilitate payroll functions for staff by maintaining daily time records in Kronos
- Provide a high level of guest service and guest interaction.
- Adhere to all TSG policies and procedures listed in the employee handbook.
- Understand and apply the Skier Responsibility Code and Colorado Skier Safety Act.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Must have experience with all lifts at Telluride Ski Resort.
- Must be able to use two way radio dispatch system.
- Mechanically inclined, not afraid of heights.
- Intermediate or above ski or boarder.
- Ability to operate a snowmobile
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher.
- Must be able to function effectively in inclement weather conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage 2 Assistant Managers, 5 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 90 employees in the Lift Operation Department and 2 Dispatchers. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from 4 year college or university preferred and at least 3 years experience with ski resort operations.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Outlook, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, and Kronos software.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Salary Range $70,000-$75,000 DOE
