      Job Title: Hospital Kitchen Cook


      Job Description

      Join our hospital's kitchen team as a cook, responsible for preparing high-volume, fresh meals safely and efficiently. Embrace our cook/serve program, creating delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes from scratch. Utilize your skills in measuring and following recipes to ensure quality and consistency.

      Responsibilities

      • Cook high-volume meals including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
      • Prepare food following recipes and measuring ingredients accurately.
      • Operate grill, flat top, and deep fryer to prepare eggs, burgers, hot dogs, and Philly Cheese Steaks.
      • Perform food prep tasks between meal services.
      • Ensure food is labeled correctly, contributing to 10% of your tasks.
      • Engage in 60% prep work and 30% cooking during your shift.

      Essential Skills

      • 2+ years of experience in volume cooking.
      • Excellent customer service skills.
      • Experience in measuring, cutting, and following recipes.
      • Proficiency in food prep and line cooking.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Experience in hotel, restaurant, or country club settings is a plus.
      • Food Safe Serve Qualified/ServSafe Certification preferred but not required.

      Work Environment

      Work in the hospital's Nutritional Services department with flexible hours ranging from 6am-2pm or 9am-6pm. Open availability is required, including working every other weekend.

      Job Type & Location

      This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, District of Columbia.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
