POSITION: Forklift – Operator I
REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor
Position Summary:
Perform basic warehouse functions while maintaining the integrity of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods and ensuring all quality and safety standards are met. Use lift equipment to move products/materials/equipment/etc. as required .
Essential Functions /Responsibilities:
• Review daily production schedule.
• Responsible for issuing raw materials or removing finished goods from production lines.
• Materials must be issued to the production lines in a timely manner as determined by daily production schedule.
• Product must be removed from production lines in a timely manner as not to disrupt production.
• Raw materials must be rotated and pulled in accordance with FIFO procedures.
• All unused materials will be returned to stock in an acceptable manner. (Properly labeled containers and appropriately covered).
• Tickets must be verified and signed prior to removal from production lines.
• Each pallet must be wrapped and staged in designated area for shipment to NWH.
• Follow all GMP’s.
• Complete all other assigned duties in an efficient manner.
• Notify Group Manager of any suspicious personnel or incidents occurring that relate to plant security.
• Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
• Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
• Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
• Inform Line Manager, Group Manager or any other Management personnel of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
• Perform inventory counts and assist in inventory reconciliation.
• Post transactions to Inventory records.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or six to eight months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Associate’s (i.e., Warehouse) experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess excellent communication skills; written and verbal.
• Requires operational knowledge of computer software (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, Internet applications, etc.)
• Must have verifiable experience on a sit-down forklift (PIT).
• Must have OSHA certification and pass pre-hire forklift test.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
