      JOB SUMMARY

      Reporting to the Supervisor, Liquor Revenue, the Liquor Revenue Administrator (LRA) is responsible for the review, investigation and resolution of discrepancies between sales invoices and licensee payments from External Warehouses and Class E manufacturers. This position is accountable for the daily matching of payments collected from multiple banks and cash/cheques to JDE accounts receivable balances. The LRA liaises with AGLC personnel at external warehouses to ensure payments are processed against the correct licensee accounts and invoices. They have direct contact with Class E manufacturers for the payment matching process. Discrepancies between unmatched payments and sales files require investigation to determine the appropriate resolution.

      Current processes are high touch and manual, thereby requiring this position to demonstrate a high duty of care and accuracy. This position actions monthly “As At” reports for external warehouses and reviews “Outstanding Listing” report daily for Class E manufacturers. Open and unmatched items require daily maintenance, follow-up and resolution.

      The successful candidate must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to adhere to timelines and meet critical deadlines. A high duty of care and degree of accuracy are essential as well as strong problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills are also required to develop and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders and to resolve issues with diplomacy and tact.

      SKILLS & ABILITIES

      • Minimum of a High School Diploma and at least 3 years of related experience in an accounting environment is required; Post-secondary accounting courses would be an asset.
      • Transactional accounting knowledge of the revenue and accounts receivable cycle as well experience with an accounting system (e.g., JD Edwards) is needed.
      • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is also required.
      • Understanding of liquor revenue workflow and reporting processes would be an asset.
      • Understanding of the legislation and procedures AGLC operates under would be a strong asset, including the Gaming, Liquor, & Cannabis Act, Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis Regulation and Liquor Licensee, Liquor Agency and Liquor Warehouse Handbooks.
