Open until filled - Provides on-going support to teachers and/or grade level teams for successful language arts instruction and achievement
- Provides support to teachers with organization and management of the HCS Language Arts model and related components
- Follows the cycle of planning, co-teaching, modeling, observing, and feedback with teachers and teams
- Meets regularly with grade level teams to provide job-embedded professional development, share or create resources, best practices, and specific instructional topics
- Provides support to the Literacy Team with analyzing PALS, SOL, RI, and other assessment data to determine areas for improvement, establish goals, and monitor improvement
- Attends staff developments and professional opportunities to improve/maintain knowledge
- Coordinates and facilitates teacher study group activities and the sharing of successful lessons to ensure successful implementation of the program
- Meets regularly with building administrators regarding classroom practices
- Meets regularly with the Language Arts department
- Maintains up-to-date information on current state developments
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Teaching license with an endorsement at the elementary school level
- Extensive and current experience in elementary; five years minimum preferred
- Excellent organizational, planning, and human relation skills
- Must possess an in-depth knowledge of instructional best practices
- Knowledge or ability to quickly learn the HCS Language Arts model and programs
- Demonstrate professionalism by working collaboratively with other staff members
- Demonstrate team and relationship-building practices with teachers
- Ability to present material to diverse educational audiences
- Ability to deliver clear, articulate, and grammatically correct oral and written presentations
- Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions with the school community

Supervisor: Title I Literacy and Building Principal Employment Period: 11 months Employment Status: Full-time Pay Grade: G-116 Hiring Range: Commensurate with experience (grant-funded position) Start Date: 25/26 school year
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position is responsible for working collaboratively within an elementary school by supporting the teacher’s implementation of the Language Arts curriculum and balanced literacy approach. Duties include: assisting classroom teachers and other instructional staff, and working collaboratively within the Professional Learning Communities at the school. Position emphasizes planning, co-teaching, modeling, and providing related feedback to develop and sustain strategies, skills, and techniques for effective Language Arts instruction.
