      Organization Overview:

      We are currently seeking an LNG professional with strong commercial acumen, material transactional experience, and problem-solving skills to join our dynamic organization in LNG Origination. The ideal candidate should be a natural team player and have an eye for innovation and continuous improvement.

      The Gas Supply and Trading (GSAT) LNG Commercial Advisor will be responsible for supporting the Origination team and managing new, term LNG transactions in the assigned markets for GSAT.

      The position will maintain a strong internal network including GSAT, Corporate Business Development (CBD), Chevron New Energies (CNE), Supply & Trading (S&T), Value Chain Optimization (VCO), Shipping, Risk, Finance and Legal amongst others to develop commercial opportunities in the most effective way possible, depending on the scope and specifics of those opportunities. This role will report into the GSAT LNG Origination Manager, LNG Ventures and Business Development.

      Chevron Supply and Trading (S&T) provides a critical link between the market and Chevron’s upstream, downstream and chemicals companies. We provide commercial support to our crude oil and natural gas production operations and to our refining and marketing network. We are headquartered in Houston, Texas, and have offices worldwide – including trading hubs in Houston, London, Singapore and San Ramon, California. Our trading professionals manage commodity transactions averaging five million barrels of liquids and five billion cubic feet of natural gas each day. Our activities are organized by crude oil, natural gas and refined products.

      Key responsibilities include :

      • Supporting the Origination team in sourcing, negotiating and executing term supply and demand origination opportunities in the Atlantic Basin, ranging from traditional term marketing to joint ventures and strategic alliances.

      • Identifies appropriate economic evaluation, proposal development, and supports negotiations leading to deal capture.

      • Coordinates contractual negotiations and optimization activities, including internal reviews and approvals, in close collaboration with internal stakeholders including Trading, Origination, Scheduling & Operations, Shipping, Legal, Compliance and other teams in London, Houston, Singapore and Perth. Develops Deal Support Packages for internal stakeholder concurrences and reporting up to and including for the Executive Committee

      • Performance of scheduled and ad hoc analysis of the LNG market, focusing on supply-demand fundamentals, policy impacts and other price drivers.

      • Contributes to developing LNG marketing strategies for term sales and ensures activities are integrated into the overall Chevron LNG Strategy

      • Develops and manages enduring external relationships with key customers and partners to support GSAT, CBD and CNE activities.

      • Understands standard terms and conditions in LNG agreements and how they protect the company from risks and liabilities.

      • Ensures all agreements comply with company policies and procedures as well as local regulations

      • Establish a network of contacts to enhance the flow and application of market intelligence.

      • Interact with the trading teams and management for input to test opportunities against CVX strategic intents.

      Required qualifications :

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

      • 5+ years of LNG supply and trading experience, preferably in origination, market analytics and/or business development, with required technical skills, such as Excel.

      • Thorough understanding of commodity markets with LNG commercial acumen and understanding of the full LNG value chain from production to customer.

      • Demonstrated proficiency in identifying opportunities and negotiating outcomes with an enterprise perspective, with a focus on European DES LNG.

      • Experience in reading and comprehending business contracts.

      • Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of peers and stakeholders in pursuit of the best enterprise outcome and to communicate effectively externally and at all levels in the Chevron organization.

      • Able to work independently with limited supervision in new market or partner environments.

      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be articulate, work well under pressure and consistently be able to meet deadlines.

      • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and priorities, and handle work interruptions.

      Relocation Options:

      Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.

      Expatriate assignments may be considered within Chevron parameters.
