      Position Overview

      The Loan Collateral Insurance Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the loan collateral function. As an integral member of the lending team, this individual will monitor insurance policies, coordinate lender-placed insurance, and support the collateral team. The Loan Collateral Insurance Specialist will coordinate work within the department and with other departments to ensure delivery of superior quality service to both internal and external customers.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Monitors insurance compliance for all loan collateral (residential, commercial, auto, etc.).
      • Communicates with insurance agents, borrowers, internal teams and third-party vendor to ensure timely receipt of insurance documents.
      • Monitors requirements through insurance tracking system; uploads insurance policies upon receipt and verification of accuracy.
      • Tracks and follows up on expiring or inadequate insurance policies.
      • Reviews and verifies insurance documents for adequacy, accuracy and adherence to company policies.
      • Coordinates lender-placed insurance when appropriate, following regulatory guidelines.
      • Researches collateral values to ensure insurance properly covers the value.
      • Assists in resolving insurance-related issues.
      • Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel
      • Performs tasks, which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.

      Education & Qualifications

      • A high school diploma or equivalent.
      • A minimum of one (1) years related experience required.
      • Knowledge of insurance requirements for loan collateral.
      • Regular and predictable attendance is required.

      Skill(s)

      Moderate reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; moderate interpersonal relations and communicative skills; moderate typing and PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word; loan processing; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 20 lbs. or less; visual, auditory and speaking skills.
