Job Description
- Req#: 5330876
- Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit can be met.
- Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
- Diagnoses malfunctions of security systems for the purpose of identifying repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain systems.
- Installs locking and closing security systems (e.g. door and window locks, combination locks, keyless entry systems, door closing mechanisms, exit devices, etc.) for the purpose of providing security of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
- Keys and/or re-keys existing locking systems, and new locking systems that are being installed, for the purpose of completing projects efficiently.
- Lifts up to 50 pounds unassisted for the purpose of completing assigned tasks.
- Maintains tools and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe, operating condition.
- Makes new or duplicate keys from pattern or codes for the purpose of completing assigned tasks.
- Opens locks where there is no key, or combination is not known, for the purpose of completing work orders.
- Orders equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.
- Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information on work order completion.
- Repairs various items, systems, and/or components for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe, working condition.
- Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

REPORTS TO:
Regional Coordinator
Primary Function: The job of Locksmith is done for the purpose/s of maintaining locking and closing systems of facilities; making necessary repairs to such systems; instructing personnel on the proper usage of security systems; and ensuring completion of jobs in a timely manner, without disruption of school operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Educational Level:
High School diploma/GED preferred
2. Certification/License Required:
Valid Driver’s License
3. Experience:
Job related experience required.
4. Physical Activities:
Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities
