      What you’ll do:

      This is a hands-on role, and may involve working along with Servicing Persons, Mechanical Engineers, Locomotive Maintainers and Team Leaders in a team environment. Some of the duties you would look to carry out would include oil and water servicing, safety inspections, refuelling, and a variety of initial frontline maintenance and repairs.

      Working as a Mechanical Engineer in the Servicing team, you will be kept busy in our depot with the inspection, servicing and maintenance of our Locomotive fleets.

      What you’ll need:

      You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be highly enthusiastic and enjoy a role that includes following procedures, fault finding, diagnosing, problem solving and fixing:

      • Previous experience in electrical, diesel, fabrication, coach builder, mechanical, pneumatic, automotive mechanic or similar is benefical
      • Previous exposure to a heavy trade or automobile industry, machine upgrades, or experience working with locomotives, ships or similar is ideal but not essential
      • High level of physical fitness, team spirit and be Health and Safety focused
