      Job summary

      We are looking to appoint to a 10 PA Locum Consultant in Restorative Dentistry to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, Sheffield. This post is a fixed-term maternity cover for 12 months, commencing May 2025.

      We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers.

      Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.

      Main duties of the job

      The appointee will, together with consultant colleagues, be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive, effective and modern Restorative Dentistry service. They will be expected to have a high level of knowledge and expertise in the fields of Restorative Dentistry and mono-specialties of Prosthodontics, Endodontics and Periodontics. They will be expected to deliver Restorative Dentistry services in the field of Prosthodontics, Endodontics and Periodontics as required according to the needs of the service and will also provide a support role for the Lead Restorative Periodontology Consultant. They will be expected to work in close collaboration with consultant colleagues and other dental professionals in Restorative Dentistry.

      • Full registration (with a licence to practice) with the General Dental Council (GDC).
      • Name on the specialist register for relevant specialty or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview
      • If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
      • BDS or equivalent.
      • Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Exit Examination in Restorative Dentistry or equivalent

      • MD or PhD or equivalent
      • FDS/MFDS/MJDF or equivalent

      Management and Administration

      • Evidence of the understanding of the systems and structures of NHS Management
