      Job summary

      We are looking to appoint a Locum Consultant Urologist to join our team of 5 Urology Consultants. The team consists of 5 substantive Consultants and 4 Specialty doctors. In addition, there are specialist Urology nurses and Clinical Nurse specialists.

      The Urology team are forward thinking and work together to support our patients. There are various transformation projects currently being undertaken to redesign patient pathways, increase efficiency and improve patient outcomes and experience.

      The Consultants are committed to learning and development of middle grade doctors and the urology workforce.

      Main duties of the job

      This is an exciting time to join the team due to the transformational projects that are currently taking place.

      The post includes delivery of all aspects of elective clinical activity, including outpatient clinics, flexi cystoscopy, TP biopsy lists and surgical elective lists..

      Warrington is a great place to work with close working relationships with supporting clinical and administrative staff.

      Active participation in clinical governance and audit will be encouraged and supported.

      About us

      The team deliver clinical activity on all 3 sites of the Trust, Warrington, Halton and CSTM.

      There is also a bespoke UIU based on the Warrington site which has recently opened and allows Urological procedures and hot clinics to be undertaken in a designated area supported by Urology nursing staff.

      Exciting developments are currently taking place with new treatments and service redesign to improve patient pathways and experience.

Consultant Surgeon specialising in Urology to provide both elective and emergency care of Urology. We are taking applications for locum (6 month) position. The candidate appointed will work on both the Warrington and Halton hospital sites for both theatres and outpatient clinics.

      This is a full-time post in Urology amounting to 10 PAs.

      Applicants are required to be a Registered Medical Practitioner, MBCHB or equivalent, to be fully registered with the General Medical Council and listed on the Specialist Register or due to be registered within six months of the date of appointment.

      Responsibilities of the post will include supporting provision of elective activity in the department which will include outpatient clinics for 2 week waits, new and follow up, flexi cystoscopy lists, TP biopsy lists and elective theatre sessions. There will be associated administration and SPA sessions included in the job plan.

      • Evidence of logical thinking and an ability to make clear and balanced decisions
