      Job summary

      An exciting opportunity has arisen for one, Band 3 Logistics Officer within the NCA Procurement Department based at Rochdale Infirmary.

      We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a good understanding of NHS procurement practices.

      The post holder will be responsible for providing an efficient, safe, and secure goods supply service whilst ensuring agreed service levels are maintained. They will also be expected to deputise for the Logistics Supervisor as and when required.

      The role of the Logistics Officer requires the individual to work with others but also autonomously at times. The post holder is expected to contribute to the sharing of best practice within the Procurement department, required to adopt a flexible attitude and develop skills to enable them to fulfil the responsibilities set out below.

      Main duties of the job

      • You will have experience of working in a busy Receipt and Distribution Department with previous knowledge of Materials Management System
      • Good communication skills, a team player and the ability to build strong working relationships are essential, you will need to engage with staff at all levels across the Trust in order to promote understanding, influence buying behaviours and provide an effective Materials Management Service.
      • Previous knowledge of NHS Supply Chain Systems will be advantageous but not essential.
      • Receipting and Distribution of Clinical Supplies.
      • Materials Management of Ward Stock.

      Knowledge, Training & Experience

      Essential

      • A broad knowledge of Procurement, Customer Care and Supply Chain Management
      • Knowledge of order processing / catalogue systems

      Desirable

      • Experience working within a Procurement function in a large organisation
      • Knowledge of inventory management systems
      • Public sector Procurement experience
      • Experience of NHS Supply Chain online system including the administrative duties such as requisition point creation, masking, reporting etc.

      • A good standard of general education incl. GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
