      Description

      Under general direction from the Manager of Logistics and Technical Services, coordinates the day-to-day information and operations for leadership, managers, estimators, crane operators, truck drivers, and laborers by coordinating all on-road and site operations and providing thorough information needed to complete daily jobs. Will obtain required Department of Transportation (DOT) permits and coordinate travel routes and maps, in accordance with the law as directed. Will assist driver in tracking service hours, in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA); the management of on- and off-duty time will comply with the rules and regulations to promote safety. Will coordinate with all departments including operations, mechanical, and estimating in formulation of schedules for all branches.

      Requirements

      Knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules, regulations, and the precautions necessary to prevent accidents. Knowledge of the coordination and dispatching of equipment and of the permitting process for oversize loads in all potentially traveled states. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to convey detailed project information to operators/drivers and to encourage safe driving practices and procedures. Ability to maintain records and complete reports using strong organizational skills. Must be highly motivated and able to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to work under pressure effectively and adapt to an ever-changing schedule in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates strong customer focus skills, effective documentation, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills. Excellent oral and written communications and human relations skills.


      High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred. Possesses intermediate data entry and computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Experience in trucking, crane mobilization, setup and operations, and associated terminology considered an asset. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform in the position may be considered.


      · Confirms all information received from Project Estimator/customer service/branch management prior to scheduling.

      · Contacts customer to confirm project dispatch date, time, and any special instructions to safely perform awarded work.

      · Schedules and dispatches workers, equipment, and/or service vehicles to appropriate locations per customer requests, specifications, or need, using radios or telephones.

      · Assists and communicates with mechanical department for[CS1] routine, emergency equipment, and vehicle repairs to sustain service and schedules.

      · Relays work orders, messages, and information to and/or from work crews and supervisors using two-way radios or telephone.

      · Speaks to customers or supervising personnel to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment.

      · Records and maintains files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.

      · Participates in the determination of types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, personnel, and permits required per work order or specifications.

      · Advises personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, or other hazards.

      · Ensures timely and efficient movement of equipment according to orders and schedules.

      · Performs related assignments as required.

      Special Requirements

      • Position operates computer terminal for prolonged periods and may require sitting/standing for extended periods of time.
      • Must be able to lift items up to 25 pounds.
      • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to function at a high level as part of a team.
      • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
