      Duties


      The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) at Los Angeles Air Force Base is searching for a Logistics Management Specialist (NH-0346-03).

      Description:
      This position will serve as an SSC, MilComm & PNT, Acquisition Logistics Division (SSC CGL), Branch Chief responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting product support activities for MilComm and/or PNT space programs. Considered a Subject Matter Expert by others in the organization, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing effective Product Support strategies for MilComm and/or PNT systems that address all 12 Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements to accomplish operational system readiness and sought out by others for assistance and guidance in establishing product support factors early in the requirements development and acquisition process to achieve effective and efficient weapon system capability and life cycle management.

      This specific role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, ability to think critically and apply creative problem-solving techniques, and a collaborative motivation to achieve mission success across a diverse, geographically separated workforce and stakeholder team.

      You must be able to work independently in planning, organizing, and coordinating programmatic actions across various engineering, financial, legal, security, public affairs and contracting offices, both internal and external to Space Systems Command (SSC), USSF. Strong communication skills are critical, both oral and written, with a focus on clear, concise and technically accurate dialogue that synchronizes efforts across multiple government and contractor organizations to develop, produce, deliver and sustain critical and innovative MilComm and PNT warfighter capabilities. In addition, the duties of this position require the ability to analyze, negotiate, and resolve complex issues while maintaining good working relationships.

      Finally, as part of our leadership team, you are expected to train, develop, mentor, and motivate junior civilian and military personnel with a focus on outpacing the threat, accelerating warfighter capabilities, streamlining and synchronizing functional support processes, and expanding excellence in our people and partnerships.

      The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field and shall achieve/acquire Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Life Cycle Logistics (LCL) Level III certification within 24 months of employment. DoD experience and supervisory/Team Leader experience is highly desired. Candidate must be TOP SECRET clearance eligible.

      Key Skills and Abilities:
      1. Knowledge of a wide range of advanced principles, concepts, procedures, standards, and techniques of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) sufficient to plan and execute a complex and difficult product support program; and to apply new developments to issues for which previous techniques are frequently inadequate.
      2. Knowledge of agency program goals and objectives and the sequence and timing of key program events and milestones; and of planning, programming, presenting, and executing budgets as well as forecasting long-term funding requirements.
      3. Knowledge of the logistics functions, programs, and systems applicable to product support; and the sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice related to life cycle integrated logistics.
      4. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
      5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the staff of an organization, including special study teams and task forces composed of members from different organizations and commands.
      6. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing.


      Requirements

      • This position is fully remote eligible.
      • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance.
      • This position is covered by the Acquisition Processional Development Program (APDP). Incumbent must acquire and maintain required certifications.
      • Employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
      • The employee must meet, or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification requirements applicable to the career category designated on the position description within 24 months of assignment.
      • This position also requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning points every 24 months.
      • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft. TDY travel will be in accordance with JTR, Vol 2.
      • Employee must be able to acquire and maintain the necessary security clearance in order to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
      • This position may be designates as an AF Testing Designated Position (TDP) with mandatory requirements for incumbent to: (A) refrain from use of illegal drugs, and (B) submit to random urinalysis testing.
      • Employee may be required to work overtime.
      • Employee is required to submit an initial and annual OGE Form 450 (Confidential Financial Disclosure Report) in accordance with the Joint Ethics Regulation.
      • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Determination: The actual work performed in this position has been reviewed and determined to be exempt as defined in 5 CFR 551.206a
