      POSITION OVERVIEW

      This position will be located in Decatur, AL or Pensacola, FL and is responsible for daily coordination between onsite operations and external logistics in order to optimize order fulfillment according to schedule.

      TARGETED OUTCOMES

      • Achieve 95% on-time delivery rate through efficient route planning and carrier coordination.
      • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Decatur logistics site and plant operations teams to ensure seamless coordination of inbound and outbound bulk liquid movements.
      • Participate in weekly cross-functional meetings to align logistics planning with production schedules and site constraints.
      • Identify and eliminate at least 1 recurring cost inefficiencies within the first year.
      • Maintain 100% alignment between equipment availability and production schedules through weekly planning meetings with procurement and site logistics.
      • Gain functional proficiency in SAP and Celonis to support informed, data-driven decision-making and ensure timely operational execution.
      • Review and approve logistics-related invoices in a timely and accurate manner to prevent payment delays.

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Work with third party vendors and suppliers to coordinate shipments originating from Decatur plant and external transloading facilities
      • Track and publish site specific logistics KPIs
      • Manage carrier base and improving relations while driving performance in terms of OTS and OTD
      • Provide daily status updates on site performance and schedule adherence
      • Act as “on call” for support for issues as they arise and develop
      • Develops collaborative relationships with Operations, Manufacturing, Site Logistics, Customer Operations, Commercial, Quality Assurance, Production Planning and other support groups
      • Act as lead in Root Cause Analysis investigations. Investigate customer complaints as required
      • Daily work requires scheduling, planning, receiving goods and goods issuing on time. These critical functions are required for successful operations.
      • Use A2E tools and methodology to work through problems and improve processes
      • Review/Approve/Track costs for freight and demurrage invoices for Decatur site
      • Manages bulk transportation at Decatur site and external transloading facilities. This includes ocean, bulk tank truck, ISO tank, and rail
      • Support other departments in troubleshooting missed deliveries.
      • Responsible for shipment creation for Decatur site and external transloading facilities, including Delivery due list monitoring, and tendering loads in our Transportation Management System (TMS)
      • Work with site logistics to build firm 3-day load schedule – manage loading times hour by hour in SAP

      • Works with Manufacturing, Customer Operations, Production Planning, Day Support Staff, and Leadership

      REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

      • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or related business field. Relevant work experience can be accepted in lieu of a formal degree.
      • Minimum of 2 years chemical manufacturing or logistics environment

      DESIRED CERTIFICATION

      • 49 CFR/IMDG/IATA/ICAO trained to ship hazardous materials.
      • Green Belt or Six Sigma trained

      REQUIRED SKILLS

      • Moderate to advanced computer skills including proficiency in MS Office products
      • Demonstrates proactive leadership with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization
      • Experience in leading change and accountability
      • Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to innovate and solve complex problems
      • Willingness to provide after-hours support
      • Strong attention to detail and able to multi-task
      • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
      • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
      • Ability to perform in a highly dynamic work environment
